LEED-H Locations and Linkages
The LL section of the LEED-H is designed to promote the placement of homes in socially and environmentally responsible ways in relation to the larger community. Credits in this section are highly dependant on the location of your new home.
LL 1 - LEED for Neighborhood Development.
1 The LEED for Neighborhood Development program is in the pilot phase now. When available it will reward 10 points. This credit cannot be used with any of the other credits in the LL section. We currently do not have any developments in any LEED-ND pilot developments.
LL 2 - Site Selection
2 Site Selection (2 Pt) - Choosing the location for your new home is very important. In addition to choosing the right town and school district, this credit encourages picking a site away from sensitive area, not in flood plains and not too close to water bodies. We take this credit very seriously and always incorporate it in our home plans.
LL 3 - Preferred Locations
3.1 Edge Development - One point is available for building your new home adjacent to an existing home.
3.2 Infill - Two points are available if your new home site is bordered on all three sides by existing homes.
3.3 Previously Developed Sites - One additional point is available if you build your new home on a site that has already had a home on it previously.
LL 4 - Infrastructure
4 Building is encouraged near existing water and sewer lines. This credit is great if you are planning to build close to a municipal area. We currently don't have any developments that can use this credit.
LL 5 - Community Resources and Transit
5.1 - 5.3 These credits award up to 3 points for proximity to existing community resources and public transportation. We currently don't have any developments that can use this credit.
LL 6 - Access to Open Space
6 Acces to Open Space - Access to open space promotes community use of parks and wooded areas. These greenbelts are an important part of preserving the environment. All of the lots in our Wilton Woods Subdivision can use this credit.
Summary - While the location of your new home plays an important role in this category, homes in our Wilton Woods development normally receive 3 points, and certain lots can receive 4 points.
